Event Description
Perhaps some of us aren’t really ready to come out of hibernation yet? So lets visit the National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street next Saturday.
The building itself is well worth a visit, full of interesting architectural features.
But there are also seven galleries of artefacts dating from 7000BC to the 20th Century, the collection from ancient Egypt, 
Ardagh Chalice, 'Tara' Brooch and Derrynaflan Hoard , the famous bog bodies, Viking artefacts 
We are welcome to sketch.
Stools are available.
The use of wet materials, is prohibited in all galleries.
Then there is World War Ireland: Exploring the Irish Experience Exhibition across the way in the National Library.
This exhibition focuses on the unique aspects of the Irish WWI experience. It draws on the NLI's collections of letters, diaries, recruiting posters, newspaper reports, cartoons, handbills and leaflets dating from 1914-1918.
Having checked it out on line I think we may need another week for this. Lets hope the weather stays cold, wet and windy.

There isn't much that we could draw in the NLI exhibition. What about going to the National Gallery instead?
