Hi Norah, in case it may suit you I sent below comment to Ann:
Ann care to meet up around 2 tomorrow, Tuesday the 9th? Anywhere you'd care to paint is great with me, whether Glasson or Ballymahon. I'm 087 9913651 Be grand, from my perspective, if anyone else cared to join.
We have often thought about it Norah only the weather let us down at the last minute. However, we regularly paint at a lovely quaint schoolhouse in Mullaghmore every Saturday during the day and Monday evening. Up to now the only outdoor painting our painting group have done over the last couple of years is in Marbella and Tuscany. That's why I joined this group.... to paint in my own country next year, and indeed Mullaghmore will definitely be a perfect location.
Really enjoyed painting the castle at Trim. Who ever thought that it would be so hard to paint stonework! Really enjoyed the challenge and pleased with result. Enjoyed Kilcock, great bunch of people. Might be able to get to Virginia.
Thanks for explaining that to me Norah - about sending message to friends.
As far as I know all that is involved in hosting is that you decide on the site , the meeting place and time and let us all know via Groups and Events. So get your thinking cap on.
Delighted to hear from you, Yes it's me and I still play tennis but not quits so regularly, not enough time! I dont even have enough time for my art! Have just looked at your artwork how lovely it is excellent composition and light and a delicate touch. I didnt know you were painting, is this since you moved to Mullingar? Wonderful. Delighted to connect again, I am still in Lucan. I will definately go out with you but have family commitments right now. It is my total love to paint outside and have been doing it for years, but one does need to have company. M
Thank you for comment on my Evening Stillness. That painting was done in January.....I find the winter light more interesting. I wish someone would design a pair of heated fitted gloves!!!!!!!!!
We have been like ships in the night, making contact but never quite meeting. You sound a bit like myself with your impetuosity in ordering the book so quickly. I heard you saying you would, and I meant to have a word with you, that you're more than welcome to have mine anytime, for as long as you like. Sometimes they're quite expensive when listed, but my experience is that for the one penny you should get it for less than a fiver. Unfortunately, due to my late arrival, we weren't introduced - I had been wondering who that attractive lady diagonally across from me was. It dawned on meafter I'd left, that it was probably yourself - your photo doesn't do you justice. So, Norah, I look forward to meeting up with again and we might even get around to having a chat. I enjoyed your painting of the tree, with its almost sculptural effect.
Thanks for your kind comments - I'm afraid I have been slacking on plein air painting but would really like to get at it this year. Won't be at the lake but have put my name down for John's refresher course in June.(Cong) You have done some lovely oils of late I noticed!
Just about to sit down and watch The David Curtis dvd ! - great to meet up yesterday I really enjoyed it. Delighted you will take part in the Virginia open air art event.
One of us is not available first two weeks in June and one is not available last week in June. Cant remember who.
Anyway, that seems to leave the third week i.e. from 18th to 24th. Wed. and Thurs are out for Dee. That leaves 17th, 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th. 23rd is not available, therefore it would have to be earlier in the week i.e. Sunday 17th and Monday 18th or Monday18th and Tuesday 19th.
It looks like they have single rooms for €40 + dinner per night i.e. €119/120 for the two nights including breakfast and dinner each day.
Let me know what you think and if you would like me to book. Does everyone want a single room? It looks like we would want to move quickly especially as I think we all want single rooms.
It was great to meet you in Virginia and looking forward to renewing acquaintance very soon again. I would love that river trip so let me know if you are still interested!
Hi Norah, i got your message re plein eire in Leenane. If the weather is good and you are all painting in the evening time after work or I might take a half day.
The village has a few nice panting spots but dont be too nice to an over friendly drunk or he wont go away. Theres lots of parking but avaoid having your view obliterated by a parked bus. best regards, Noelle Angley
Norah Thank u for your invite - looking forward to meeting you - please introduce yourself as I have met so many and have so many names to remember it will be a while before I get my head around all - the memory isn't the best at times you see. Eileen
Norah, thanks for organizing such a warm painting today.
When I was leaving a reception room in Botanic gardens, a man caught me. He said he is glass pavilions keeper. He said an artist groups must warn about them painting in the glass pavilions several days before. We must call gardens office. It is allow to paint in glass pavilions but they want to know about it. He stopped me. I don't know haw he recognized me as an artist.
Norah, that was a wonderful day today. Really enjoyed it. Sun, sand, the 'humming of the noon-tide bees' and the perfume of those roses...... Thanks for organising.
Hi There Norah. Thank you for you message. I am very much in need of a trip to paint. I just dropped John Dinan a line say hello and that I'd like to get back to Roundstone or Cong for a few days painting. How you doing? You Painting much? I joined a local painting group and really found it helpful in keeping'my hand in'. Have you come across any of the other from the 'RHA' ... Roundstone Hall Artists? I see you organising outings, well done!
Hi Nora... would kill to get out and paint with you but being on Merrion Sq only leaves me one day to catch up on housework, shopping, gardening etc... will keep in touch tho xxx
Hi Norah
What a thrill you are my first Plein Air friend... Thank you. I couldnt find anyone so I went to Powerscourt on a quest to find people with easels...but no .. its my own fault. I miscalculated my journey time from Naas.
If there is an event North Wex or any area within an hour from Naas I would be so grateful if you let me know.
Am doing a portrait at the moment and having such a prob getting the brush to the canvas. Scared...
Did you ever have that prob
