WET PAINT!
Wexford's Quick Draw event, 'WET PAINT!' takes place as part of the Art in the Open 2012 festivities on Saturday 4th August from 1 to 3pm at the South Main Street between Henrietta Street and King Street. The event will be in aid of Wexford Women's Refuge and costs €5 to enter. Pay on the day. Entry is not limited to participants in Art in the Open but is, unfortunately, restricted to over-18s.
Similar rules as AITO apply but this is a timed event and there are 14 business premises putting up various prizes which the business owners will award. In addition, there are 3 prizes sponsored by Spectrum Art & Framing and these will be awarded by David Diaz, Chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters' Association, based in Annapolis, USA.
Artists must line up with the freshly painted work on their easels at 3pm and we ask for a minimum 10% donation to our adopted charity from the price of any paintings sold off the easel.
This is a fun event for a good cause and there will be some surprises while the marching music of St. Patrick's Fife & Drum band will add to the occasion.
