Painting Courses

Details of the 2013 season courses at the famous Burren Painting Centre, run for many years by Mrs. Chris O'Neill based in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare are now available HERE. Continuing a tradition begun by Chris O'Neill's late father, The Burren Painting Centre has been promoting direct landscape painting in Ireland before most of us had even heard of 'plein air'. The courses are flexible and it is sometimes possible to take a 3-day course if you can't manage the full week.

Most of the courses involve painting outdoor landscape painting and I will endeavour to post them on this site under 'Events' in the near future. First up is a trip overseas to Sicily led by Fergal Flanagan from Monday 15th – Monday 22nd April.

Another course, later this year, is given by American oil painter, Valerie Craig, who will be visiting Art in the Open in Wexford at the end of July. Her course at the Burren Painting Centre from 20th - 27th July immediately precedes Art in the Open 2013 and would be highly recommended.

And a Finale Weekend for the season will be run on  Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September and you may want to put a ring around those dates in your calendar.
