Look out for Plein Eire members John O'Flynn and Karen Scannell who will be among the artists who took part in 'Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year' when the Dublin heat was filmed at the RDS earlier this year. The programme is broadcast on Sky Arts 1 on Tuesday 19th at 8pm. and is repeated on the following Sunday evening. The two earlier heats, filmed in London and Glasgow were very interesting.

Many who like direct or alla prima painting tend to retreat to the life room and the portrait especially when winter approaches.

Its a good excuse to break out a bottle of Shiraz and the toasted marshmallows and invite your Plein Eire pals around to cheer them on.
