A belated 'Happy Birthday' to all, as Plein Eire website celebrates 2 years since its public launch at the beginning of March in 2010.

Membership currently stands at 475 - more than satisfactory for a niche community and greatly surpassing any expectations we may have held in the beginning - and covers a very wide range of artists and locations not just in Ireland but in countries across the world. Of course, not everyone posts as regularly as our most active members. I think that is normal with networking sites such as this. But a surprising number of people look in regularly to see the work posted and to keep in touch with the plein air art scene, so a big 'Thank You' to all our members and a bualadh bos (a round of applause) from the Admin Team who wish they could give everyone an iced bun like the one in the picture.

For anyone interested, here are our viewer stats for the last month:

4,357 visits by 1,675 unique visitors from 66 countries.

At an average 5 minutes 31 seconds per visit to the site 27,467 pages were viewed.

Visits per day ranged between a maximum 203 to a minimum 78.

There is great painting activity going on all over and that is what this site sets out to encourage. Let everyone know what you are up to and keep your profile updated with good photos of your work and some means of being contacted - you never know who is looking in!
