Wexford is twinned with the municipality of Couëron in the Loire-Atlantique department of France, close to the city of Nantes.
This year five artists representing Wexford (Jim Doolan, Margaret Kent, Tom Roche, Sheila Ronan and George McHugh) attended a plein-air art festival in Couëron on the weekend of 15-16 June. The visitors were hosted by local families and were the recipients of unbounded hospitality.
Some of the Couëron artists intend to participate in the Art in the Open Plein Air festival in Wexford. This will give SEPA an opportunity to return the hospitality.
This is the second year visitors from Wexford have attanded the Couëron plein-air weekend. Photos of both visits can be viewed on the website pix.ie and searching under the tag Coueron. This years photos were uploaded by gbmchugh.
