with the satisfaction of capturing the likeness of another human being - whether it be a family member, grandchild, friend or even a commission.
I've scheduled an extra Portrait workshop, in Baldoyle, Dublin from
Mon 11th to Thur 14th Nov due to the level of interest in the original November Portrait workshop in Dunlaoire, which was completely oversubscribed.
Some of these people have switched to Baldoyle the following week, but there are still places available.

If you'd like to enrol for this 4 day workshop just email me immediately and I'll advise you if there's a place available.
The Portrait Workshop - What you'll learn
Using live portrait models, and through my demonstrations and teaching, you'll learn how to go about painting a portrait from start to finish.
How to get an accurate likeness, tips on drawing accuracy, how to light and pose a subject, how to avoid common pitfalls, and you will gain the confidence to ask people to sit for you.
You'll learn how to mix colours for skin tones, you will
understand how to select background colours and you will have the time and opportunity to paint two complete portraits over the four days.
It's recommended that you have at least some painting experience to get the most from this workshop. You don't have to be 'good at drawing' however, as almost everyone says they're 'no good at drawing'
Baldoyle
The meeting room in Baldoyle Badminton Centre is the location for this portrait workshop. It's a location I've used for many years - it has free parking outside in a large car park; it provides nice simple lunches should you wish to have them; it's easy to find from the M50 Dublin Airport junction; and the staff are very friendly there.
Workshop Fee
The workshop fee is €295 for the four days - plus a contribution to the models' fees - this will not
exceed €30
