I painted this on the Saturday before the AITO festival. It was a very warm, humid day and mostly cloudy. I always love the soft look of the grass around the lighthouse in summer and was immediately drawn to that. The yellow flowers (probably ragworth!) added interest too. So, yet another painting of the lighthouse which isn't really about the lighthouse.

The camera has over-exposed the sky a little. The area behind the lighthouse is actually full of subtle, warm colour.

It's oil on 12" x 12" MDF board.
