Thank you both, Patsy and Norah for your comments. I did ask that question about sketch? painting? Etc. But am having trouble with internet and it is flying around the ether somewhere. .

A great painting Sally, not sure when a study is a sketch or a painting, put a painting in a sketch book and it becomes a sketch.  Just because we do not always set up a "professional" looking easel doesnt mean our sketches are no less valuable than paintings. I love sketches, and most people love the freshness of them. I have been mostly sketching for the last year as I know the need for improving drawing skills and setting up an easel puts more pressure on to do a presentable painting perhaps ?
