Sally You certainly know your galvanoise ...wonderful painting
I love this Sally your greens are spot on!
Nice work Sally! You got just the right amount of lovely shed into it!
I saw an article on that somewhere and I'll see can I find it as apparently we all overblend and it is better to try to mix subtle tones and lay them beside each other so the change is clean and gradual - at least that is how I read it. Another article I came across today gave a tip for plein air painters - to finish a painting when you are about 70% finished as most paintings seem to be ruined after this ? That's why I call mine sketches, it takes the pressure off having to do a "finished" painting
Thanks for that Norah. My mission is to 'paint ugly' as Mark Carder says i.e. dont blend.
You got really clean darks Sally and a great use of subtle reds in the trees to marry the painting together, better not to have overworked it as the sketchy feel makes it very painterly
