Love the barns, we still have some old ones here but a lot are being replaced by horrible new ones as are old gates. Great sky and sense of windy day too - lovely skies here at the moment with the autumn light getting softer, great gallery

We have so many different kinds of barns in the states. The country is so large, that the ones you see out west, or the west coast, are very different from the ones down south, or New England, or right here in Virginia where I live. They even differ within each state. I like the old ones, the ones that have character. If they are falling down, all the better! I've been through Indiana, and it has a very different character from our area in the valley. The Irish barns I've seen, so far not in-person, yet, are wonderful. Can't wait to paint some!

Yes, Indeed, Elaine-two different worlds. I think, generally speaking, in the States, the barns are far more impressive. Mostly, I look for ones that are in the process of collapsing. I think I already have a couple in my photo collection. If they are not there, I will post them. I am glad about your comment on the sky. I am not expert at painting atmospheric skies, but for this, I tried hard to get the haze near the horizon.

I was about to say that I didn't know that there were barns in Ireland that looked like the ones here in the states....until I saw it was in Indiana! Very nice. I like the feel of it. The sky is fantastic!
