I love this. I like the compositioncolor of the house and slightly darker value reflection.
There is a sense of depth conveyed, through the treatment with blue-violet for the background woods. I think this was a tough plein air challenge, as there is a lot in the painting, but you got it down.

Nicely done, Elaine. The subtle handling of the water works well here compositionally, in the sense that it doesn't draw the eye away from the building.

Thank you for the nice comments. It is fun painting at this location. Both this and "Near the Blue Wagon" were painted out, but over two different days, so I was able to finish them on-sight.

I love your paintings Elaine! You capture light and freshness beautifully. This painting and 'Near the Blue Wagon' remind me a lot of The Ulster/American Folk Park in Omagh which also tells the story of emigration to the US.
