I got out early this morning (28/8/10) to take advantage of the brilliant sunlight. I was lucky to finish just before it clouded over.

Thanks James. I had almost forgotten that one. Thankfully someone else liked it too - sold it a few months later I think.

Lovely stuff, Michael.  Your paintings always remind me of Monet.   The wet sand is well observed, particularly with the sky reflections at its edge.  Excellent.

Thanks James. Pity we don't more get days like that here!

Impressive Michael - you can feel the warmth in the suns light and the cool of the cliff/coves shadow and that wet sand, damn good.

Me too. I have an Artist Residency in Acadia National Park in Maine right now. So I am getting quite a few ocean/bay scenes done. So far they are all smaller, 8x10, and I'm trying to figure out how I want to/can paint the amazing waves, colors, etc. I will be posting a couple in just a moment.

Thanks Elaine. A few more seascapes to follow soon (when I get a chance to photograph them - been away for a few days) from earlier this week.

Thanks Joe. I think I'm really a marine painter at heart! Definitely my favourite subject.

Magnificent Michael. I visited your website to admire your many wonderful works and this one included. You are a deft hand at capturing the shadows of the rocks/beach and the tones in the sea.

Thanks Kevin. Hadn't been down that way for a while. I'd forgotten just how striking that little headland can be.
