It's really charming even if it's not as finished as you would like it to be. The elevated viewing position almost makes it appear maplike to my eyes, or reminiscent of Japanese landscape pictures. Nice work.

Thanks Sally, hope to make it stronger next time as it looks a bit wishy washy - can always blame the tourists who came along just as I had applied the first wet into wet wash !

thanks Karen, the foreground could have been finished at home but I would rather go back to get the size of the farm in the foreground and the nearby trees to give more depth.

Hi Nora..I thought the same on this piece.It's wonderfully atmospheric, and sometimes it's better to leave things out, to let the imagination of the viewer kick in. You've struck a lovely balance here.

I'm breathless looking at it, Norah! Because the painting looks so good and because I remember toiling up that hill years age. Your aerial perspective is great. Hope you finish it off.
