Thanks Norah - I suppose I could have invented more snow but would that have been genuine plein air? Yes having your palette, paints etc ready to paint is essential in this cold weather - no time wasted trying to take the caps off tubes while you can't feel your fingertips! Go for it.

Not too much snow there John - good to see you posting again, thought you had retired ! Brave of all of you to get out in the cold . I have a spot picked out which I can walk to from the house but keep saying "maybe tomorrow", I was going to lay out my palette before leaving as I have one of those little pochade boxes which holds all you need and fits into a rucksack so no excuse (husband says I am like all those surfers you see down the west with all the fancy gear but all they do is stand looking cool looking out at the waves :(

I recognised this as yours and as usual it appeals to me
