farmleigh
Some cows in a field at Farmleigh. Queue some sad country and western bluesy music...Recently folks I did a bad thing, a very bad thing, I neglected my favourite brush. Theres nothing particularly special about it, if there was a brand name on it before it's long gone now, but somehow we got along just fine that brush and me. Anyway for some reason last time we worked together I forgot to properly clean my little pal.
So today when I showed up at Farmleigh I discovered a sick brush brother and my heart just wasn't in the work anymore after that. Guess I got a case of the sick flatbrush blues. I just hope i can fix my little friend.

It may have been september but I know the way we come relaient on certin brushes, because the seem more flexible than others, and you can do almost anything with them. Glad to see it recovered.

Glad to hear the brush is good again, James. Wish you both lots of happy strokes. Should have suggested to you that if you got to the stage of softening it up it is a good idea to wrap the bristles into shape in something like damp kitchen paper. As the paper dries out it tightens a little on the bristles and they take up the shape nicely. Used to do it once myself.

Hope your brush is recovering James, for a work your heart wasn't in it sure looks good. I like very much the play between the reds and greens.

Good you are sorting the brush James. Sorry, I meant did you use acrylic paint with it! I found some remedies for removing acrylic paint.
Re your picture: I love all the greens and and the hint of Autumn.

Cruelty to brushes is a severe offence!!! ..seriously though, a wonderful painting despite the emotional trauma!

Not sure what it's made of Mary, I think it will be ok, it just got a bit warped out of shape. I've cleaned it out and clamped it into shape with soapy water and light blue masking tape.

Lovely view James, I met you making lots very interesting thumnail sketches first! Sad about your fav. brush. Was it acrylic!

Commiserations, James on the illness of your brush. Please God it will recover Lazeruslike from its rigour. I know it is very difficult when you get home to take out the brushes and clean them BUT REMEMBER 'your brush is your best friend'!! You did extremely well nevertheless. Very nice autumnal colours.
