It became very dull when I started to paint on Wednesday afternoon (13/10/10). So I had to invent the light to some extent. I also played around with a few other things to make the painting a bit more expressive (I had the sense of this old tree putting up a fight before it succumbed to the inevitable and I tried to convey that).

Thanks Kevin. The depth here is just down to playing around with "focus" much as a photographer does when doing a portrait with a zoom lens.

I never thought I'd "feel" for a tree.You've captured that "something extra", that gives an added dimention to the painting.
