It was nice to get out to paint with some friends on Tuesday, especially since there wasn't a cloud to be seen all day! I've painted here so often, that it can be difficult to find something a little different. I liked how the wooden fence here gave a strong lead-in as well as a strong linear perspective clue to the viewer. The cast shadows on the path were an added bonus. It's oil on 12" x 16" MDF board.

Thanks Meg. When I started the sun was nearly straight in front of me, but then I noticed how interesting those cast shadows were as the sun moved more to the right, so I added them and then had to make some changes to the distant cliffs too.
