This is a beautiful spot on a plot of land next to The Scotch Piper Inn in Lydiate, Liverpool L31 4HD is surrounded by trees with farmland to the rear. I first visited this spot earlier in the year when there was snow on the ground and obviously, no foliage on the trees. On the day I painted this scene it was one of the hottest days of the year (and we have had a lot of those this year 2018) I hardly recognised the place because of the foliage, I finally decided to paint what you see here. The place turned out to be a sun trap and after just 90 minutes of painting I had to call it a day because of the heat. I am not too disappointed with the painting considering the conditions, but I did manage to get a suntan…on my left foot, the side the sun was beating down on me…maybe next year I can get my right foot tanned.
