Thanks Jack.  The dark cloud didn't last too long but a great big turf cutting machine did arrive.  You think you're in the wilderness and then....

Thank you Elaine and Deirdre.  That's the nice thing about plein air painting - whenever you look at your painting you to relive the pleasant experience you had when you painted it.

Love it, Sally.    My recollection of bog days in Mayo,  where they didn't speak Irish, but they still had the old words,   is that these  small   footings were called "grogeens".
