Some of the members of the Dalkey Tidy Towns task force saw what I was painting and were very pleased. They had gone to a lot of trouble to clear undergrowth away, making this view possible for the first time. They also planted the lavender that appears in the background. I try to capture passing yachts as quickly as possible in paint as soon as they appear. It's a choice - to paint or to photograph - you don't get time for both. I choose to paint.
