Renewal of my studio insurance in January will be €616.53. There's no way I'm paying that. Have you got studio insurance? What are you paying? Any better deals around in Ireland?

Presumably its the teaching element that is pushing up your premium - public liability and all that.

Might be worth looking into registering with a local community forum/ parish hall or WLD as a local amenity to see if its possible to get an extension of a larger policy to include your premises?

Originally I got the insurance from McCarthy Insurance Group, Fermoy, Co. Cork which VAI used to recommend. I will see what the new recommendation comes up with.

Strange how most insurance companies seem to think it's very odd to want to insure an artist's studio and practice.

Sometimes if you have affiliations to groups and associations you get some discount on insurance.

 

I used to have to pretend I had to work in an office to get cheap car insurance, my real job at the time was seen as a risk(but don't let that put you off!!!)
