The cost will be  € 45 euro/ day, full board. The nearest airport is Berlin

We had a great experience during this Event 2014. This is a wonderful opportunity to paint in the old, East part of Germany, and immerse yourself in paint :) . Places are still available, if you would like to join us let us know.

If we arrive at check in together we can pool the bags swings and roundabout more so heading home with all the free samples:-) I always leave room in o carry on for extras
I'll probably stay overnight with my daughter in Ballinteer, so I'll make my way up on the Sunday.
If you set a check-in time, I'll try to make it, so that the bag-pooling is possible.
I mite take Michael up on his offer of the lift! thanks a million for the generous offer Michael !!
Just looking at long range forecast for our trip, looks like warm weather fro 18 to 23° for the week not much in the way of bad rain ,fingers crossed.
Some possible things to see in Berlin:
Brandenburg Gate
Judendenkmal (Jewish Memorial)
Potsdamerplatz
Unter den Linden
Museuminsel (Museum Island)
Alexanderplatz
Gemäldegalerie (official Berlin art gallery)

Some possible things to see in Berlin:

The Brandenburg Gate and the Judendenkmal (Jewish Memorial) are really close by, also the Reichstag.
The Potsdamerplatz is about 8 min walk from the Jewish Memorial, but there is nothing special. Only big new soulless buildings.
Unter den Linden is partially a construction (new underground). The Museuminsel (Museum Island) is not bad, there a some museums, but depending on day and hour, it's stuffed with visitors.
The Alexanderplatz is also partially a construction place.
Gemäldegalerie (official Berlin art gallery): Have a look at their website: http://www.smb.museum/en/museums-and-institutions/gemaeldegalerie/a... You can check if the current exhibitions are interesting for you.

There is a small gallery, but it's deep in Westberlin, this is the current exhibition: http://www.gbw-berlin.de/ausstellung/ausgrund.php?aid=39

Thanks for all the suggestions guys I am easy to go along to any thing ye have in mind. I was lucky enough to spend a week there with college a couple of years ago and have been to most of the above places. Berlin is lovely especially the old east side where the pre ww2 buildings remain. It is a lovely city
Thanks for the comments Nikolai. Delete the building sites!
I note that the Gemäldegalerie is closed on Mondays.
Personally I would like to visit the Pergamon Museum, if possible.
Have you or Marko any suggestions?

This information is their website:

During the current stage of renovations, the hall containing the Pergamon Altar will close at the end of September 2014 and will remain closed to the public for five years, due for reopening in 2019.

On monday in Berlin all museums are closed :-(

Looks like it's going to be just some sight-seeing then, Nikolai!

On a painting-related matter, just wondering whether you or Marko have a "point driver" (the gadget for fixing panels to frames). I'm bringing my own frames and will otherwise have to bring some panels and a small hammer. Just trying to minimise weight in my checked baggage.

Michael, right now I can't imagine what a point driver is. I have a small hammer, so leave it at home.

Do have a photo with a point driver?

Do you mean this one? http://framingsupplies.com/Fletcher/FletcherPointDriver.htm
