The picturesque little village of Screen has a lot to offer, even at this time of year. The surrounding landscape is interesting also, but the village will at least afford us some shelter if there is a cold wind. Please note, that until such time as the pub opens, there are no facilities in Screen - Curracloe Hotel about 2 miles away is nearest alternative. We'll meet up outside the pub in Screen at 11-00 am.
We've titled this paint-out "The Don Maier New Year Paint-Out" in memory of our recently departed friend. We've chosen Screen because this was the last place Don painted with us when he attended Art in the Open a few years back. Don was inspirational to us in many ways, not least because of the manner in which he refused to let his illness restrict his painting. I often think of him when I am reluctant to paint because of the weather and various other excuses. So let's get a good turn-out in honour of the late, great Don Maier.
And please note it's tomorrow, Saturday (not Sunday).

No problem, Karen. We had a reasonable turn-out for a Saturday in January. And, I got lazy after my first, but Don made me do a second one! He probably had a good laugh at us!
Sorry to have missed this today..hope it went well, I'm sure Don was looking over proceedings...
Sorry to miss this-- prior engagement!
Enjoy!
