Led by artist Tony Robinson, and inspired by the exhibition Sorolla: Spanish Master of Light, this two-day course will bring participants outside with their canvases to learn key techniques for capturing light with paint.
Sorolla’s work is drenched in light, so vivid that you can almost feel the heat from the sun and the spray from the salty sea. Famed for painting outdoors (en plein air), Sorolla brought his large canvases everywhere, as he painted directly from the vibrant life happening before his eyes.
If the Irish weather fails to cooperate, the exclusive surroundings of the Gallery’s Friends Room, with views of Merrion Square, will provide shelter!
