Event Description

I am going to the Lucien Freud exhibition on wednesday and as the forecast is for an Indian summer I am also bringing my easel so feel free to join me to paint. If you are interested in the exhibition then please book it on the IMMA site. Meet in the coffee shop at 11am

IMMA has secured a significant five-year loan of 50 works by Lucian Freud (1922-2011), considered one of the world’s greatest realist painters of the 20th-century.

Admission will be by timed entry. This is due to the number and delicate nature of the works and the limited circulation space of the historic building that houses the Freud Centre. To avoid disappointment please pre-book your preferred time slot below in advance of visiting. Monies raised through admission charges will directly contribute to the care and development of the IMMA Collection.

It is running for 5 years so there is plenty of time for more visits when the weather is too cold for plein air. The gardens and surrounding areas have good locations for painting but we were wrecked after nearly 3 hours talking and looking, it is a pity they do not have seats in the middle of each room and audio but it was great to get some background information from the helpful lady from the gallery.
