Event Description

This coming Saturday we are heading towards Glen tornan DUNLEWEY ....and the deserted village...where the backdrop is known locally as Mount Errigal where she overlooks this now silent village .

This deserted village is set within a hamlet type enclave, that housed between 30 /55 people at one time...( this census being recorded in 1911) , It's been suggested that with the introduction of electricity in Donegal in the 50s ,that the inhabitants moved closer to main towns to avail of this luxury and with emigration rife is rural Donegal....all impacted to the demise of this area.

Meet up in the" An Chuirt Hotel " Hotel Bunbeg at 11 am for coffee and we shall travel on from there.
