Gaeltacht Thiar Thir Chonaill, paintout in Bloody Foreland.

This week paintout is in and around the picturesque town land of bloody foreland.....where its said that the next stop, apart from Tory , is America.The area takes its name from the way in which the setting sun enhances the natural  red of the granite stone cliffs.

Massive granite cliff walls and tiny fields speak of how farmlands were created in the 1890 s Some of the original cottages still stand  today very exposed  to wintery weathers  here on the North west of Donegal.

You will have a plethora of subject matter to whet  your painting appetite..eg, white stone cottages,  cliffs, sea, rundale stone fields,  mountains, cliffs, panoramic views, etc...

Dont forget your lunch/chair etc.

Directions to get there...coming from meenacladdy, travel around the hill called Cnoc Fola, as you approach Bloody foreland take the wee road to your right L12334, continue till you come to a picnic area on your left.)
