We meet this Saturday in Foleys Tea Rooms, Castlebellingham, a long thatched building at the north end of the village, at the usual time 11 a.m. and return about 3.30.
Castlebellingham is a quiet, quaint village in County Louth. Annagassan is only a few miles away if you yearn for the salt sea air.
Beside the castle is an enclave of Widow's Alm
houses, 4 or 5 very pretty cottages built at the beginning of 20thC.
There has been a brewery in the village since 1770. The brewery was the main supplier of drink to the Boer War troops. Unfortunately, it no longer operates.
This interesting Presbyterian church built 1835 is only a stones throw from Foleys.
The River Glyde flows through the village and can be asccessed.
To get to Castlebellingham from M1, travelling north, exit at junction 15 and continue to Castlebellingham. Turn right and Foleys is on your right.
See you there
