Event Description

We paint this Saturday in Sonairte national Ecology Centre, Laytown.

the centre was closed for a while but has now re-opened. Remember the riverside walk, the old converted farm buildings, the flowers and the gnarled fruit trees?

There may be an entrance fee of €2.

The coffee shop no longer operates but the place to be seen now is Nan's Cafe and Bakery in Laytown village.

We meet for coffee at 11 as usual in Nan's. To get there exit M1 at junction 7 for Julianstown (you avoid

tolls too). Go through Julianstown village and turn right. Continue on to Laytown. Nan's is on left as you come out of the village.

Comment by Norah Blount on July 11, 2019 at 20:20: It was a bargain Sally and an impulse buy - that was the year they were closing down due to lack of funding. It was 15 Euro and it included organic seeds - it seems to keep the roots nice and warm and everything thrives in it. They are about 40 euros in Woodies I think !

Comment by Norah Blount on July 11, 2019 at 13:47: I'm glad it's open again it's a wonderful place to visit. I bought an eco veg raised bed set up last time I was there and peas, onions and bees are thriving in it. I love that old apple tree in the garden and of course the river
