5 DOWN 2 TO GO!!! Got one done this morning while waiting for an electrician to arrive. Was a third of the way through when I had to leave it...came back to find it lying face-down on the ground...could have helped improve it!!

Well done y'all, some great work. If I had the time I'd do a caricature of you Paddy on your bike with your canvases bananas and fig rolls.
Here's my sketch done on board again and actually several miles from my garden.

Yesterday's and today's.Took it a bit easier today.Had to get some things in the hardware store, was sitting in the car and said to myself..."there's a painting!!!". Stayed in the car to paint it..not brave enough to set up an easel with all those hard-work'n fellers around!!

Here are the two 6x8" paintings I did yesterday. We went to such a great place. In an old bank barn the people had hung lanterns with little electric lights in them. They looked wonderful on the dark part of the day. I am going to take a really big canvas back there next week and do the same on a large canvas. I hope to catch the luminous quality of the light. The other one was some Phlox growing along a stone wall. That part of the day was bright, warm and sunny. I felt pretty good about painting that day.

I hope someone paints you riding along carrying all those things, Paddy! You paint a great picture of the whole experience. Great sketches!

I take a plein air painting class which runs most of each Wednesday. I feel very lucky to be able to take it, the instructor is wonderful. Anyway, we were are a wonderful old farm, with many buildings built in the 1930's, all sorts of fun old buildings. I did two small oils, and a pen sketch. I haven't taken any pictures of them yet, but will get them up tomorrow. For some reason, even including the thunder and lightening storm, I felt like things went really well today. Even had tea under an old shed at the end.

Margaret and Karen, are you not going to the life session in arts centre on Sunday?
Comment by Karen Scannell on May 12, 2010 at 19:38
Yeah, I wouldn't mind meeting up maybe on Sunday to "round off" the week. Anyone else interested..or will we be too wrecked??
