Thanks Sheila, I see it now. as there's white behind the black you can scrape in a little from the black edge leaving a tiny dark border around, that's clever, I'm going to steal that one!! reminds me strongly of a John Shinnors abstract painting based on Loop Head "Birds Over Loop" I love the brushwork on the Lighthouse

Thanks guys! Kyrle those windows are scraped in with the end of the brush at the last minute when i realised they were turning into oval windows :)

Lovely Sheila, those neutral greys and whites are striking. I love the way the small touch of detail in the windows and gables focuses the eye on the Lighthouse make the entire painting sing. It amazes me how you can do those in a 10*8 oil image, wonderful!
