Event Description

As we are all confined now to our local areas, I thought I would go out and try a few local scenes, or maybe make the most of the back garden and try to get out and sketch or paint - it could be a few weeks before we can meet up safely again. It would be nice to see something from each others homes and areas. Maybe posting them here might give us the incentive as I know a lot of us are not following any daily challenges etc on Social Media, take care

That's lovely Noel ... where is it?

Here is something that might keep you occupied for a while: https://mypaintingclub.com/blog/post/94-Covid19-Painter-s-Care-Package

Richard Robinson is an excellent Australian painter (mostly plein-air) and he has great videos in MyPaintingClub.com (oil and acrylic).

Yes Sean, whatever inspires us whatever the source and as usual your colour sings out

I have always love that walk Noel and you paid tribute to it, keep safe and well

And when it's a matter of life, death and serious illness, as well as responsible behaviour,  I think in the circumstances we would be excused using the internet for inspiration, where there are millions of images available.  This is a photo of a Galway Hooker I have slightly enhanced.

Thanks Norah ... actually I painted this for Day 2 of the https://www.facebook.com/groups/isolationartchallenge/ 14-day challenge. Today's challenge was Time. So I killed two birds with one stone :)

I might try this again at home ... it's a bit tricky doing watercolours outdoors I find (with my limited experience at any rate).

Robert that's a beauty, I love the golden yellow against the violet blues and great texture too.You should post it on the main gallery too

Here is my go today ... the clock tower in Slane. Nobody came up to talk to me (not that there were too many people there at 8:00am ... everyone was fast asleep, pretending to be at work :)

I am not venturing out where an easel might attract attention and perhaps close contact, better to be safe for a few weeks.  I think it is a challenge to see your own garden whether that is urban or otherwise as a challenge or park the car and paint from it or even from our windows at home - I am sure that will suffice as plein air for this period of time.

Hi Norah ... yes, some places are pretty packed. But this morning I went for a walk around Slane and then on the beach at Bettystown and it would have been no problem painting in either location.
