Dave's homepage is   https://www.davewest.ie/postcards.html     but I think you have found it already, unfortunately the class comes under Autumn Classes at bottom of his webpage page and it is now obviously full, It is held in Ardgillan Castle on saturdays.  I think that's it till Spring 2020. but I"ll ask him on this Saturday.  It's an interesting course as it is over 3 days In Ardgillan Castle and each day is a month apart to give time to practice the techniques learnt, Sorry I wasn't any help, but keep painting and Spring comes around quickly, If you want company on a paint-out I'm free a  lot of the time during the week, and Frank Hallinan also , Frank's a great oil painter.

Thanks Kyrle - Where can I find info on David West workshop?

I see he is in the Schoolhouse in Enniskerry  2 day late Nov. but doing pastels - hardly the workshop you referred to.

Karen Scannell tells me she would do a workshop near Dublin if there are at least 4 people interested.

Could I post that somewhere people would see it?

John, I love your "first attempt" ,speaking for myself all I see is a really nice painting, ably displaying your vision as an artist. FYI I am attending an oil techniques workshop/course by a really good artist called David West. Dave is a great tutor, and the course is a great introduction to oils (a medium I have always had issues with). That said I do not see any "issues" with your handling of oils, I wish I could keep my palette as clean as I see in yours.

I am chuffed that anybody would take the time to comment on my little effort - genuinely. I would be equally (almost) chuffed if they tore it apart as long as they point me in a better direction. You are correct Kyle - oils. Where? outside my back door.

I was to go to Karen Scannell Workshop in Broadford next Sat. which has now been cancelled. If anybody is aware of upcoming workshop in oil/acrylic suitable for beginners please advise.

Only now beginning to appreciate and explore the Plein Eire site - Notes and Tips. - Galleries. - blogs.

i have lots of blogs mainly on aspects of photography. My growing Pleinair blog is advise and inspiration to myself ...... featuring admired artists like Kyrie and Barbara P. , Karen Scannell and lots more to add.

Sorry john I'm out of sync with my comments, You must be very pleased with the result of that painting, I especially like the way there's no fiddling with the brushwork its very positive, mixed up cleanly and put down directly. its upbeat! very nice work!
