PEBV Slane 22nd November2014

N.B. Curtains closed to keep OUT the strong sunshine. Lovely day painting in Slane. I think most of us gravitated towards the river and the sun shone all afternoon.

Annagassan 17th July 2014 Boyne Valley PE

It was one of those paintouts – as regards numbers attending it was quality rather than quantity. Six stalwarts turned out. And we all agreed that the sea mist that enveloped Annagassan was not a problem but rather added to the mystical atmosphere. However, by the time we had finished our coffee things were brightening up and most of us set off for the harbour. Here there was a break with tradition. Plein Eire Boyne Valley Paintout Phoenix Park, 22.02.2014

Like the Phoenix plein air painting was re-born yesterday.   After weeks of painting 'in the car'  and in pubs Boyne  Valley painters were able to get amuigh  faoin speir again.    See -   PEBV Phoenix Park

Another wet and windy Saturday in Boyne Valley.  But Dee found the solution - chips and fried eggs, a pint or two, coffees and tea AND life-drawing by the fire in Watters pub for the afternoon.

PEBV Malahide Paint-out 25.01.2014

We ate our scones,

We drank our tea,

No-one queried our sanity.

Outside, all wet and cold and windy.

Then, on the stroke of noon

A slant of SUN lit up the room.

Creativity fanned by this deception

Ten artists disappeared together

To sketch and paint Malahide in Winter.…

The said it would stop raining.....

The told us this morning there would be dry sunny spells this afternoon.  It never stopped raining.  But that made no difference to hardy Boyne Valley Plein Eirers. Nine of us met in Castlebellingham, Co.Louth,a little gem for painters and I hope we will return soon.Rainy Day in Castlebllingham
