W/C on Saunders Waterford rough. A shameful end to a once proud vessel. I remember seeing her ploughing her way along the Suir during my school year in Waterford during the 70s. Paintwork shining and smoke belching from the tall funnel between the two white lifeboats. A sad end indeed.

Nice way the shadow works ... showing the form dramatically and reflects the shape above
Love this painting Kevin. Looks like it might be a project for some sympathetic person with sympathetic/artistic temperament?
Thank you Kyrle and Norah. Awh it is indeed a dreadful shame how this once proud vessel has ended up.
how great to see it as you have captured it now Kevin, even if it is no longer belching out smole (what a painting that would make), it is still beautiful. A great selection of boat paintings, an area I am drawn to now more and more
Magnificent Kevin!!
