Thanks Karen, The mountains were quite a distance away, and as the train moved I got a slow panoramic view of the whole area which lasted a reasonable enough time to record.  I added the wet brush to the sketch a little later! I sat in the single seat behind the tabled seats, and I also had a little pull down tray. I concentrate better when there is no audience!

I travelled from Dundalk once, in an empty bus, and the view was amazing as the seats are high up but no, I did not sketch then!

I think my eyes would cross, trying to capture a scene from a train! I love these, fluid and fast!!

On Saturday I travelled by train from Dublin to Newry to have our own 'Art in Action' day, at a friends country abode! The Drogheda event which we always attend  was cancelled. As usual, on the June Saturday, the sun came out in full force!  Once the train reached Dundalk I put my pencils to good use. I love the views of the Mountain range. Hopefully I will be able to translate the sketches into water colours. I have little experience of sketching the countryside but I feel this 7 day drawing marathon should get me going!  Thanks Karen!
