I think you have reduced the size of this image too much, Suzanne. You aren't doing your painting any favours. It would look better if it were colour-corrected - that blue edge of paper should be white, or nearly. Any photo programme will do it if you can get access to one and it will also let you crop it to the image (ie. no border) which looks much better.
