I agree with you Tony. A great place with huge skies, but you need the weather, sun and heat.  I was there a few years ago trying to paint also, and I remember the rain, gale force winds and cold and every colour of grey! I was so cold trying to paint outdoors in the rain and cold, that a local couple let me paint from INSIDE their house.  A beautiful place I would say in the summer. This is a real Achill painting-brings back memories! Caroline Carroll

Thank you, Meg. Its very different from what we're used to in the S.E. Certainly, skies refuse to be a backdrop and insist on being the subject. I liked it but jeepers, it was GREY. Next time there's a cast-iron heatwave on the west coast, I'm there.
