I will let you know!  We are going to persevere on through the winter.  Maybe have to cheat a little and do plein air inside some places.  Hope all is well there.  I think about my Irish friends quite a bit, and really enjoy thinking about my time in Ireland.
  • Elaine Hurst

I did take a few photos today.  The day started out cloudy, chilly and a little bit breezy.  By lunch time we were all pretty cold, so came in our house, had some soup, hot tea, and warmed up.  There were only four of us, but that was ok.  After lunch, the sun came out and was a gorgeous fall afternoon.  I used my pastels today.  One of my students came, and was so excited to paint outdoors.  A bunch of other people who couldn't come today gave me lots of ideas of places to paint that I didn't know about.

Now...if we can convince some of you all to come over here, and paint with us, that would be great!

  • Edward B. Gordon

I am very honoured by your request, thank you !

Karen, Karen, Karen----the last paint out of 2011--where's that Irish fortitude . But I do like hoisting a glass to the year---sorry I'll miss it---hate to miss endings and beginnings.

Hi Karen,  thanks for the comment. I'm happy to be a part of the Plein Eire site. Being American, this is interesting and fun to connect with artists from across the ocean!

Hi Karen, Just back from a week away, hence the delay. Like your boat painting - I struggled a bit this week on a couple of similar paintings, mainly lack of time (as family had to come first!) and getting soaked one day too!

  • John Loader

Hi Karen, Of course you are right about the value of every painting... just wish I could get more that I am happy with! Plenty of subjects as you say, but not the weather at the moment... but then you would know about that in Ireland too!

  • Marie-Christine O'Brien

thanks Karen, Looking forward to paint out next sunday. I am bringing my sister Marie Chantal. She is quite a good artist.

  • Elaine Hurst

Wish I could be there.  We just had our daughter's wedding, and before that a big trip out to Wyoming to visit our other daughter.  All the excitement I could handle this summer!  But I certainly am thinking about everyone.  Sounds like great workshops going on this year, and all the fun, and music!!  I had SO much fun playing music with that group, it was one of the many, many highlights of last summer's AITO.  I'll be watching for pictures of this year.  Have fun!!

  • Sonja Brussen

Thanks for the recent invite Karen, didn't make it this time, apologies hope it went well.

  • Barbara Knauf

Nice to meet you. It turns out that when I researched the Berlin workshop some more, that Fürstenberg is one and a half hours from Berlin, too far to travel from my friend's apartment in Berlin where I could stay. So it would not work for me. I live in Kansas City, do you ever visit the States?
