Karen---hope you are having a Happy one Also--I have been trying to consume vast amounts of soda bread---little bakery here does a great dense, moist, raisin filled thing, slightly sweet that slides down nicely with butter
Na---just jerkin you around---all is going well---will be out painting tomorrow with 2 friends. and just had our annual meeting on Saturday--about 80 people, 2 demos, and a yard sale for folks who had art materials they no longer use--some traded, some sold, some gave away, some donated money back for events. I don't mind getting alerts, it keeps me posted about what you all are doing--and I could if I were there. I'm waiting for the new trans-Atlantic bridge to be finished.
just had a look at the photos and work that you guys did on the 27th. What a fab location, Loved the work and also the picture of the pigs ( very cute).
Karen your photos are terrific! Such good memories of a brilliant day. I'm in awe of the talent shown on Sunday but it's such a positive encouragement of just what's possible painting 'plein-air!' I've been well bitten by the bug and hope to get out again soon with ye all!
Thanks Karen,i may as well stick with what im used to, i have a fine spray bottle, & wet pallett, will use a damp plastic bag to keep the in use brushes moist ,your two paintings are great.soft & loose, well done
No, definitely not a prize, Karen, bu maybe a couple of lashes for not having at least 200 up there! Staying on in Kerry for a few days next week, planning to do nothing but paint in West Kerry, so expect the 100 to rise rapidly in a week or so. Looks like you'll have a lovely fine day in Inistiogue on Sunday. Enjoy!
Karen--I've got a question about transportation from Wexford across the country from another artist. Is it cheaper to hire a car or is it better to train or bus?
I'm still up in the air about car rental,,and we did all almost travel together last year. On the other topic--is there train or bus available to the Shanon area or Connamera?sp
Hi karen , sorry I couldn't make it to Borris, especially as I did some sculpture work there a few years ago. Hope to make a future trip in the SE soon..
Hi Karen, I really enjoyed my first paint out with you. I felt very welcome and I am delighted to have met and painted with such a friendly group of people. I was't expecting to make it on to the album cover though.
Karen--short time till we'll all be gathering to paint together again--and thanks--yes both Wayne and Easton are juried, and I'm leaving for a week for another juried, Western Md. I've been lucky this year--BTW Easton has gone international with 2 from UK. I stupidly double booked two events this coming week and got into both, so now I have to make decisions. Looks like you all are right out there with some great work--every time I go away and come back, I seem to miss a ton.
Karen--gettin all excited here---just got tickets finally and we will be arriving on Tues in Dublin sometime in the late morning--I hope--maybe I can jump into a quick painting with you all--where will you be on that Tues. Can't wait to see you all again.
Thanks so much for your warm welcome! I changed my profile picture to give a better idea of where I live. The prior picture was of one of my favorite places to paint - Gloucester, Massachusetts which is located on our east coast.
Karen--just trying to get ahead of the game a little---I'm going to be coming straight from Paint Easton on the 22 and flying out 24--trying to locate local B&B or something and get it locked in--I apparently was having too much fun last year to plan ahead--got any names or numbers. How's the weather been there of late?
Hi Karen, am going to try to make it down for Tintern Abbey paintout or Hook Head. Will know for definate nearer the time and will contact you. Your group have been very busy with Art in the Open Festival-lots happening.
a real crazy non-event-event. just knocked the back of my hand in our barn. didn't think it was anything......wrong! soooooo glad it wasn't my right hand! i would be only painting abstracts. :) i think i will have to upgrade my car hire to an automatic, if possible. ah well, just makes the adveture more of an adventure!
The nice thing about Irene is she seems one of those fast ladies--maybe have her way with us and move on quickly.(like the earth quake) Right now very humid with light rain and wind starting.
Thanks Karen. What a fabulous website! My friend is still talking about the wonderful time she had at the last event. I would love to join y'all next year.
Thanks Karen . All the panels I used were10" & 12". As for the changing light , at least it was realy only the movement of the sun , not the four seasons in one hour we sometimes have to deal with here.
Thank you for your kind words. It was a great day and i enjoyed meeting so many new people. What a nice day for painting, and such a wonderful venue. Rita
