  • Kevin Freeney

Yeah, about time Paul. Nice paintings, my favourite is stableyard.
  • Michael McGuire

Definitely about time, Paul! My favourite is the stableyard too. Not really sure why - it just sems to work better compositionally.
  • Neil O'Keeffe

    Hi Paul
Taking the techno plunge at last

  • Margaret Kent

    Hi Paul,
    I love the self portrait!
    See you in St Mullins
  • George McHugh

As Brian Lenihan might say, it's under active review!
  • Karen Scannell

Hey Paul..forgot to ask will you be able to partake in "the challenge" event???
  • Margaret Kent

Thanks Paul, you did well yesterday, pity we all got scattered.
  • Karen Scannell

A big thank you to Patricia and yourself, for looking after us so well today. Hope the washing up didn't take you too long Paul!!
  • Joe Jordan

Paul, many thanks for your comments, dont know about `seasoned craftsman` and `organised palette` - you should see the stuff on the
ground beneath my easel. Some of my plein-air work is finished/tweaked in studio - is this acceptable? I justify it because of
weather conditions. I love your painting `reeling in` - great composition and movement.
  • Elaine Hurst

We have light until around 9:30 here. I love it! Love the late evening light which is just golden and magical.
  • Belinda Fair

thanks Paul. Still finding my feet. Constantly changing styles at the moment. Love all your work :-)
  • Joe Jordan

Paul - a bit of artists `deja vu` at work - I would love to see what you
were working on at the same time 8pm 17 june!
Your nocturnes are just great! and I love the brushwork on `Laid up`
  • Tony Robinson

These are crackers, Paul. The Rosslare ones are especially good.
  • Louise Treacy

Thanks Paul my work is a load of SH*** at the mo at least thats the way I feel but you are absolutely forgeing ahead with the lovely work you are producing, congrats
  • Toner

  • Karen Scannell

CONGRATULATIONS PAUL!!! ..Well done on topping a brilliant weekend of painting and fun , with winning the overall award.
  • David Diaz

Paul--joining the others and sending congrats for a fine win --and being the class act you are, giving us those great mugs-thanks
  • Kevin MIller

Thanks for the comments. The colour seems to do a lot of the work for you if its right but I really struggle with my palette at the moment I can't believe artists like Kevin Macpherson achieve what he does only using three colours. I feel my paintings often lack structure compared to work like yours. Congrats on your prize btw well deserved.
  • Neil O'Keeffe

    sounds great - what time?
  • James Moore

Don't mind me Paul i only want to study your brushwork in better detail : ) Great tip to avoid the bowed edges, must remember that one, I usually just straighten them out in photoshop afterwards but thats labour saving cheers. Am about to check out Ken Howards work that you and Michael Richardson mentioned.
  • Kevin Gough

At the moment 12 x 8 inches Paul, thats about all I can ever manage for plein air but I am looking to make attachments for larger panels.
  • Valerie Syms Martin

Yes. I graduated from NCAD in 1978. I did ceramics there but did hardly any afterwards. Now I paint in oils and watercolour (preferably out of doors) and love life drawing..
  • Valerie Syms Martin

After college I went to Sweden on a Coras Trachtala Design Award - mass production. No jobs really in that so I drifted into teaching. Later I did an MA in History of Art and now just paint.
  • Tony Robinson

I usually defer to Michael M. or your good self on such matters of P.A. theology but as long as your trouser legs weren't tucked inside your socks at the time, I think its okay.
My manual suggests, helpfully, you could try rushing outside every couple of minutes to get a big gulp of air, just to be sure.
  • David Diaz

Are you pulling pots AND painting everyday
  • David Diaz

    Keep a window open
  • David Diaz

Mostly when I do a still life---but I have done interiors, standing near a door or window to get light just catching edges or washing across the floor---I think it's all good, painting on site.
  • David Diaz

Paul--thanks for the comments--it's a nice little town to paint in
