Oyster Island, Rosses Point, Sligo

6" X 14" Pastel on Clairefontaine Pastel mat Oyster Island is a small strip of land with the greenest of grass that gleams- even in Winter ! Mixed fortunes with the weather for our Paintout... Sun playing hide and seek and rain making unwelcome appearance too..!

    I love your use of pastel Meg, the "brushstrokes" you did with your pastels keep it lively.  I know that scene well but have never painted there.  I keep missing your Sligo paintouts, we go there a lot but I always have other jobs to do while there but promise to get to one of your paint outs soon. Next time I go I will give you lots of notice, Strandhill was glorious when we were there a few weeks ago
