    Congratulations Frank, very nice painting.

  • Sally Downey

This is a wonderful painting Frank. Very lively and great colours in the trees and water - everything, in other words!

  • Frank Hallinan Flood

Thanks folks! It was such a lovely day, so enjoyable. Wont see ye this weekend as going up north to Donegal. See ye next week. xx

  • Julia Yakub

Really nice movement in the water, Frank. Very simple and nice.

  • Frank Hallinan Flood

Thanks Julia, yes, getting the effect in such a short time was the challenge! Also, I used Alkyd oils on Saturday which dry quickly and I think that helped.

  • Etain Feeley

Apologies, unable to attend way to cold and windy etc

  • anna d hurley

photo should be on my site. 13.7.2013

  • Norah Blount

Anna I saved your photo from the art page and put it here - hope thats ok, looks like you had a great day - brollys needed all winter and now I think we need them for the sun

  • Frank Hallinan Flood

Lovely day at Duckett's Grove yesterday! Many thanks to all the organisers especially Mary, James and Geraldine.

  • Norah Blount

  • Frank Hallinan Flood

Here are some photos of work from AITO 2012. I had a great four days.

  • deirdre shanny

Well done frank, hear you did us proud again.congrats are in order.

  • Norah Blount

Great work Frank - love that bike one ! what did you win this time ? will have to do some googling as I know you are too modest to tell us !

  • Caroline Carroll

My favourite is the bike as well-your own bike? Would love to know how you did at the Festival.

  • Frank Hallinan Flood

Thank you all for lovely comments. My Garage painting won the Bronze prize. There were three, Gold, Silver and Bronze plus seven or eight other prizes. My painting features the semi derelict filling station which is on the right as you leave Enniscorthy for Dublin. I spent about eight hours on it! Who says plein air is fast?? I think the bike one is my favorite and hope I get to keep it! I only did four days this year as opposed to the full week last year and I think that is the way to do it as I was spent halfway through the week. I did miss my BVPA buddies though and we will have to do a contingent next year if we can!?

  • Sally Downey

Frank, very well done and thank you for letting us see your paintings. I had a look at the site each evening hoping for news but none. Really delighted. With your history at Wexford they'll have to give you a handicap for the next competition - to give the others a chance!
  • Caroline Carroll

Frank, its great news. There was nothing as yet on the website, so its lovely to hear your news. My favourite is still your motorbike painting!

  • Patrick T Daly

Hey, Yes yes yes, We all know Frank is good and of course he won a

prize. But I was there to representing BVPE. And guess what? I painted

with my eyes closed the WHOLE time.

  • deirdre shanny

Nice one patrick...I see you did us proud also.

  • Sam Carroll

Hehe, good one Pat! Yes Frank's winning painting is class. You'll have to show me Frank how to do those chiseled edges and corners please. I too had a great time at AITO, meeting artists, good (mostly) weather, super locations - an exceptionally worth while experience.

  • Caroline Carroll

Love it Pat!! A big painting-look like you were enjoying yourself! Weather looks good.

  • Norah Blount

great painting Patrick of you and the painting  - must try shut eye technique sometime, is it better than squinting ?

  • Patrick T Daly

Thank you Sam Caroline and Norah. I found shutting my eyes helped

me to forget everything that I thought I knew about painting.

  • anna d hurley

Wexford great this year mainly the weather overall. Got lots of paintings, some finished, some not. Huge number of artists.

  • anna d hurley

Frank, dont forget about that painting.

  • Frank Hallinan Flood

Have'nt forgotten about that painting. But I cannot figure out which one it is. Give me a call 087 9542782.

  • Frank Hallinan Flood

Thanks Sam. Be delighted to show me 'tricks'!

Great Frank.  Love all those angles.  You really are in the zone.  But why do you hide your images away.  Had to do a bit of searching to find it.

  • Pat Holton

Congrats to Norah on yesterday's Carlingfort Paint Out...great turn out

and on Frank H F ON HIS success at Art in the Open

  • Sally Downey

  • David Goldberg

Carlingford area is my favourite Irish painting motif. Look forward to doing some work with you up there.

  • Norah Blount

I think we will be heading back there again many times  - an earlier start next time perhaps might be something to think about as there is so much to paint  ? I will post a few photos from yesterday later

  • Norah Blount

A few photos from yesterday, sorry for those I missed or who were further afield

  • Caroline Carroll

I couldn't make yesterday-looks like everyone had a great time. Maybe back there for another paintout?

  • Frank Hallinan Flood

Great photos Norah! I love that rusty old  boat. Definitely like a return visit some time.

Thanks Sally. I'm not sure what's the best way to put up images!

  • deirdre shanny

    Hello,

It is not Beaulieu house. That looks wonderful. Hope to see you some time soon.

  • Valerie Syms Martin

I can't wait!  Pumpkins. What a wonderful subject!!

  • Valerie Syms Martin

    The pumpkins were wonderful!

  • Valerie Syms Martin

And the potatoes I bought there are the tastiest I've ever had.  Microwave for about five minutes, cut in pieces and put butter on and sprinkle with black pepper.  There's nothing better!

  • David Goldberg

Had the salad last night and it was super.

  • Caroline Carroll

That's disgraceful! Just boiled them in no time, and they were absolutely beautiful with butter, skins just fell off them-nicest I have ever tasted.
