    Hi Kate, Sally, Paul ,

Anyone free this saturday to paint??

Lets know if so and we will organise venue and time to meet up,

    Dee.

  • kate beagan

We can put it out there Dee and see if anybody is interested, I unfortunately am not free for the next two weekends. Is there anywhere that you would like to paint and we can put it up and see if there is any interest.
  • Sally Downey

Deirdre, I love your paintings of Donegal. the colours in the Mount Errigal are very evocative.  Yes, I'm free this Saturday. Any suggestions for a venue. Maybe somewhere near yourself and Paul.  What about Laytown, Balbriggan. I throw these in as a first bid. You probably have somewhere better in mind? Look forward to hearing from you.
  • Paul D'Arcy

Sorry folks - I am away until the middle of July - to sunnier parts :)

  • kate beagan

See you guys on Saturday, It will be great to get out doors again.

  • kate beagan

Hope all went well today, weather was great. My mix up as I had only looked at this page and not the events one, and didnt realize that Laytown had been and gone. Will teach me not to be in such a rush the next time.

  • Sally Downey

Really missed you, Kate. It was beautiful in Bective and six of us painted. During a long 'coffee' afterwards we got to discussing our title and what we should call ourselves. 'North Leinste' was suggested. The administrator previously suggested - among other things - 'N.E. - South.'  I suppose we can postpone a decision until next Saturday in Carlingford. I'll text you the quote. Will you post the details of Carlingford?  Hope we see the fruits of your Laytown endeavors.
  • Norah Blount

It was a lovely day and a great venue so thank you to all who organised it. What about Boyne Valley Painters? Dont know where the Boyne starts and finishes but some bits of it must hit most of the counties in this region (my geography and history are in need of some work)
  • deirdre shanny

sounds like a great name Norah.
  • Patrick T Daly

  • deirdre shanny

Great meeting with yourself, alison, deirdre and lillian at Trim Castle last Saturday. The first of many great paintouts i hope.

    See you next Saturday,

    Regards Dee.

  • john o'flynn

    Hi guys

Alison flagged your group to me, and I signed up as, as a northsider,  I've explored the coast up to balbriggan and would like to go further! I gather from the previous comments that you meet each Saturday; can't see any mention of same on Events guide or these comments - whats the story?

    Thanks

    JOHN O FLYNN, D13

  • Sally Downey

Hi John, Ye, the plan is to paintout every second Saturday of the month - just had one in Trim.  Next one will probably be Virginia, Cavan.  But we're super enthusiastic around here and we have also been meeting most Saturdays since we started early in the Summer. AND we also go adhoc painting if and when the spirit moves any one of us.  So watch this space.
  • Sally Downey

Last Saturday in Trim was very enjoyable, sandwiched in between two showers.  Lilian diligently checked the pubs in Moynalty and the result is -  meeting at 11 a.m. in McCabes pub in the village for coffee and so to paint.
  • john o'flynn

    Sally

Yeah- but are you going to let it be know when is the next ("every second") Saturday is, and where you might be meeting? Do you plan to make regular announcements (time & place)  on this PENE Group page or the "Events" page - or is it going to be word-of-mouth? I'd like to keep an eye on your destinations - I drove to Belfast last Sun and the Mournes and Carlingford looked like somewher I'd like to explore (didnt have time then to go off road); one of my favourite irish landscapers is James Humber Craig - who did some on Antrim coast and I'd like to see there too, and as I said I've got as far as Balbriggan going northe from Dublin and would like to explore coast further. Tho we're not getting many at Plein Eire Dublin outings - I'd like to keep the first-Sat-month outing going so I dont know if those Sats clash with yours.

    Thanks

    JOHN O F

  • Sally Downey

Hi John, 'second Saturday' of the month means what it says on the tin and we did choose it on order NOT to clash with P.E.Dublin's 'first Saturday'. Next month, 10th Sept.,  we intend to paintout in Virginia, Co.Cavan.  Details will be posted.  I for one am STILL finding my way around the site.  Am I correct in understanding that when an event is posted here in the Group page it goes automatically to the members via email? Also, does it automatically go into the Events page?

We are meeting on Saturday, 20th, for a paintout in Moynalty, near Kells, McCabes pub at 11a.m.  Will you be able to make it?

  • Sally Downey

Paint out next Saturday, 20th in Moynalty, Near Kells, Co.Meath.  Meeting at McCabes pub at 11 a.m. for coffee and bics.
  • Sally Downey

Maybe I've got it right this time, John?  Lesson for to-day  -  don't rely on 'automatic'.  Hope you can make it for Saturday.
  • Alison Fox

Knew why I was hesitating in confirming Moynalty.  Got appointment tomorrow morning so wont be able to make it but look forward to the next one!
  • Sally Downey

Pity bout that Alsion but hope you make the next one.
  • Sally Downey

Annagassan, Co. Louth – fishing village and latest spectacular Viking site in Irleand – is our next paint-out venue.  Meet Sat 27th in Glyde Inn for coffee at 11 am.  We had a lovely day here the last time so its recommended to all.

  • Alison Fox

Will attend but won't be able to make it before 2pmish. So will you be meeting up in the Glyde Inn for coffee around 4pm ish?

  • Sally Downey

I'd say we will, but given the extent of Annagassan I'd say we'd be in contact before that.  My guess is that we will be at the pier.  C u tomorrow.
  • Alison Fox

Apologies was not able t make it in the end.  Hope you all had a good paint out and hopefully see you all next time.
  • Sally Downey

Hi all. At our last paint-out we arrranged to meet again next Saturday,3rd Sept. at 11 a.m. in Rye River Cafe, The Square, Kilcock.  We/I forgot that the first Saturday is the regular paint-out of the Dublin group.  Have a look at their posting - they are also meeting near the canal so you have a choice!
