Funny ... I posted a post here yesterday but it's disappeared! Anyway, I remember saying what a glorious day we had in Roundstone and how lovely it was to meet friends, old and new. I'd really like to hear artists' viewpoints on their feelings during a group painting sesssion, so if you get a moment, please write a sentence or two on my discussion post. Big thanks! And thanks too to John for a great Roundstone day - and you're still there you lucky man. Love to Sheila. Lynda

Was just wondering when the next Plein Air day around the Cong Cross area is being held? I need to get out there....
  • John Dinan

Am just back from a very demanding (!) 10 days in Spain painting with my Back Lane Painter colleagues and John Sheehan a good friend who knew O Grove town well.
It was fantastic. I will get to organising the next PleinPaint day immediately - need to talk to Frank Sanford who suggested painting down Kinvara way - otherwise will do another Cong day like Venetia suggested. John

  • noelle angley

Hi, Are there any thoughts of a pleir air day soon, is it getting too cold for you all? I am afraid I sadly missed july, august and september. If anyone has any ideas?
    bye for now, Noelle
  • John Dinan

Hi Noelle I've just a few minutes ago finished my last public workshop for 2010 ! And I was thinking last weekend that no-one had enquired about plein air days.
Yes I think we should try for one more in 2010 anyway - so watch this space next week and I'll suggest sometime, somewhere! John
  • noelle angley

Hi John, I was thinking Kylemore estate would be lovely some time, and the cakes in the coffee shop are superb- this is quite important!,How about the 24th?
    bye for now,Noelle
  • John Dinan

Hi Noelle I can't make 24th as I'm teaching in west Clare Sun/Mon next - but how about Saturday next 23rd? I like the sound of Kylemore as a meeting up point - the car park at 11.00 am I'll put it up as an event and hope you can make it.
    John

Hi John , I can make it, I was at the gardens last saturday and they are fabulous at the moment, there are beautiful autumn colours here and along the walk to the gardens. Its 12 euro to get in to the gardens but I might phone up to see if they would let us in at a special rate. Theres another coffee shop up at the gardens with panoramic views that would make the most fabulous indoor studio, I could ask about that too.See you there in any case I hope.
    best wishes, Noelle

Met Eireann says:'Tomorrow, Saturday will be a cool showery day. Many of the showers will be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder during the afternoon. Temperatures will range 9 to11 degrees and winds will further veer northerly moderate to fresh in strength.'
Maybe tomorrow is a bad idea. I may be in the area any way if anyone is there and Met Eireann is wrong (Fingers crossed!) text me. How about the following weekend? I'll re check this later.
  • Joe Jordan

I`m planning to go to Kylemore tomorrow -unless
    circumstances change ?

  • John Dinan

I'll contact Noelle and Joe and Diana at 9.30 Saturday morning to confirm things, I think the weather is going to be good! John
  • John Dinan

  • HELEN VEALE

  • noelle angley

Oh what a pity, i did'nt see this email, I would have loved to have gone.  Is there any possibility of the message being texted? Are there any technical wizards out there who can make this website text too. Also, can we go out again soon on the next warm sunny saturday, Maam Bridge might be nice...mountains, a river, Nimmos house( a charming pub/cafe), boats.

  • John Dinan

Noelle - Hi - it wasn't the same without you! I thought you'd check your emails daily.  I agree with your suggestion re Maam Bridge - tho the proximity of the pub could be distracting! I'll be in touch again soon with more details, and no, I don't know how to do it by texting! Open to technowhizzards tho. J
  • Suzanne Lindfield

I missed the day out too, but would be delighted to go if you're planning one this coming sunday (13th March) or the one after (20th).

Noelle - did you take a month off work? Weere you painting?

    Suzanne

  • Margaret Barlow

    Sorry I missed it too...the only morning I didn't check my e-mail !

Maam Bridge sounds like a good idea.

The area around Ballinahinch river with the old Station House is a suggestion for another time (no pub to retreat to though) just a Castle!
