I’m afraid I won’t be painting this Sunday or next again so can someone else pick a location please? I have no problem posting one but it probably makes more sense for someone who will actually be there to choose. I hope to be out with ye again after that!

  • Tony Robinson

I don't think the forecast is encouraging for tomorrow morning so, forgive me but I'm going to catch up on other painting stuff along with the domestic stuff. Working on one for next weekend though.

  • Tony Robinson

We got that one wrong. :-(

  • Sheila Mac Nally

Lads I won’t be out again tomorrow, just home from Kerry & I don’t think it would go down well to run off painting again! So if someone wants to pick a venue...

  • Sheila Mac Nally

Sunday looks like the best day of the week so long as storm Callum heads off when he’s supposed to. Ballycross has lots of apple laden trees, animals, cafe, stables etc and also fields of pumpkins which I thought might be fun to paint before they’re all harvested! Hope to see ye there on Sunday

  • Sheila Mac Nally

It looks like we could need shelter on Sunday with showers forecast so Wexford town seems like a good plan. Meet at the riverbank hotel for coffee at 11am. The tide will be coming in and full at 4pm. I’m hoping to paint some of the boats on that side of the bridge but if it’s too wet might venture into the town for cover. Also a last chance to catch some of the opera festival exhibitions!

  • Sheila Mac Nally

I can’t get out this weekend and showers are forecast so I think I’ll reluctantly hang up my plein air hat for this year- we did well to get as far into November as this! There is a life painting day scheduled for Sunday December 9th in Castlebridge; if anyone is interested you can find the Castlebridge Art Studio page on Facebook and get in touch to check availability of spaces. There’s also weekly life drawing on weds nights and portrait session on Thursday mornings. See you all soon!

A photo from SEPA's last get together of 2018 to the Safe at Rosslare Harbour. If the weather stays mild, we may be out again very soon. Here's to a great 2019 with some inspirational paint-outs, lots of successful paintings and a marvellous AITO festival.

  • Kevin Freeney

Any Paintouts happening soon? It's April already.

  • Sheila Mac Nally

Weather looks good tomorrow(today) if you want to post one? We had a few paint outs in March but only one or two people came out so I’m holding off a bit longer before posting weekly.

  • Sheila Mac Nally

No plans for this Sunday, the weather looks a bit too wet cold and windy for my liking! Hopefully next week will be better.

  • Kevin Freeney

Will you all be too busy eating legs of lamb and chocolate eggs this Sunday to go out and paint? Weather looking good. We're heading down to Tomhaggard today to move paint around on flat surfaces.

  • Louise Treacy

  • Louise Treacy

    See ya down there Kevin and anyone else,,  it will be busy I reckon!! Looks fine on th e webcam!!;

  • Kevin Freeney

Today was great Sheila, thanks. We were in Saltmills after lunch and didn't leave til 7.

I was hoping to tell you later that Cahore, where we were on Friday is well worth a visit as you probably know. More importantly, Eithne Ryan who has her studio and a house between Ballygarret and Cahore said she'd be happy to have us over for freshly baked scones if we let her know which Sunday we'll be there. The Strand bar will probably be mobbed every Sunday from now until the end of the season.

  • Sheila Mac Nally

Great to see so many out today in Tintern, there must have been about 16 of us all told! Perfect day for it too. Thanks for coming everyone, I look forward to seeing some of your work up here.

Kevin I know Cahore well and it’s deffo on the radar, at the moment the weather looks rough for next weekend so I’ll wait until around Thursday before deciding on the venue. But there will be a venue every week for the foreseeable whatever the weather so dig out your rain gear :-)

  • Sheila Mac Nally

That sounds like fun alright! I’ll look it up

Really nice, Kevin!! You captured the scene beautifully, and what a blue sky. Sure that's not the south of France?!!

  • Kevin Freeney

Thanks, Lynne. Not a keeper, but couldn't resist yellow wall, orange blinds and green doors.

    Hello Artists,

Pity about the weather today, especially as the Bay Garden is so lovely. However, I have a contact at Cheshire Home in Shillelagh, and they would love to have us paint there. Lots to paint: Beautiful stately building, plus mature trees and grounds. Saturday afternoons are best for them, so should I see if this Saturday 20 July would be convenient for them?

    Lynne Crowe

  • Sheila Mac Nally

Sounds lovely Lynne, I can’t make Saturday however go ahead if others can. Post to the Plein Eire Facebook too if you can

  • Karen Scannell

Louise Treacys daughter Elaine has organised a paintout in her memory on Saturday- come along or join in by painting where you are..

This Saturday August 1st at 11:30am we are celebrating the life of our wonderful Mam, Louise with a Paint Out at Ladys Island, Wexford. Everyone is welcome to come join us and raise a paintbrush to mark the life and passing of an incredible force of nature Louise.

  • Lynne Mac Chonnchradha

So sorry we will not be there, as we so enjoyed meeting up and painting with Louise and her camper van each summer for many years! AITO will never be the same with her gone.  Please extend our sympathy to Louise's daughter Elaine and family.

**PAINTOUT SUNDAY MAY 2nd**  Tintern Abbey. A firm favourite with lots of subjects, shelter,  and plenty of space to paint in a safe and socially distant manner- and the bluebells should be out! Meet at the car park 11am. Bring your mask, flask and PMA ;)  Looking forward to seeing everyone!

  • Sheila Mac Nally

PAINTOUT CLONEGAL SUNDAY MAY 9th Meet 11am at the castle tea rooms which are open for takeouts. There is a €6 euro entry fee but you can save by bringing your own coffee. The weather looks dry, could be windy but there should be shelter around the castle and gardens.
