Are they inviting us for a paint out or just to view the books?
  • Kevin Freeney

I'm going for the free lunch. No, wait. I'm going for the free coffee.
  • Plein Eire Administrator

    Its in the title, Dick.

Geraldine Donohoe sent us this message today : Nancy Gillespie has asked me if you would kindly post on the Plein Air Sites that she would like to sincerely thank everyone from the Plein Air community who sent wonderful messages of condolence and support and all who were in attendance at Terence's Funeral Service. Nancy would also like a special thank you to Michael Keogh for organising the Paint Out in The National Stud in Terence's memory and to all who participated.

    Spoiled for Choice....

Pleasant day in Graiguenamanagh today. Spotted Michael Kehoe and Mairead Holohan among the crowds of bookworms. I intend to return tomorrow hoping for a little more sun than today. The forecast is clear until late afternoon when there may be a shower. Coffee 10am - 11.15am at the Duiske Inn and meet up there again in late afternoon if you have Graiguenamanagh paintings to show.

For those who prefer trees to narrow boats, join Jane Meyler for a paint-out at John F. Kennedy Park, New Ross for Heritage Week. See Jane's Facebook Page for further details.

    ....You could even do both!

    Nice to be involved:

Town of Books was a well-run and fun event that dovetailed well with plein air painting.

  • Dick Donaghue

A good time was had by all. And the finale imprompto exhibition on the railings was a booster. Its in the diary for 2018.
  • Dick Donaghue

Photo of "Exhibition" posted in blog.

Ballinkeele House would be a super place to paint, a variety of subjects to paint.

  • Dick Donaghue

    Where is Ballinkeele House
  • Sheila Mac Nally

Weather forecast good for tomorrow so I will be going down to the river at Bennetsbridge if anyone want to join. I'll be there probably from 10am till about 3pm
  • Bettina Norton

Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances I won't be at Bennets bridge today
  • Sheila Mac Nally

Is anyone interested in going out on Sunday? Forecast looks good, I might head to one of the harbours depending on where anyone is
  • Sheila Mac Nally

Looks like just me but I'll be in courtown harbour if anyone is around
  • Tony Robinson

Sorry I won't make it, Sheila. Dick and Marja are manning a show, too. Have a great day's painting and hope you get some company.

  • Sheila Mac Nally

11.30 at the surf shack end of curracloe beach

Great to get out yesterday with Jane, Karen, Bettina and Kate :). Any suggestions for next Weekend?

  • Bettina Norton

What about the Saltmills Shelia or Tintern direction?

  • Plein Eire Administrator

Don't forget to post your paint-outs under 'Events' and add a photo from Google images. Its easy.

  • Karen Scannell

    I could do Tintern..always a nice venue...

  • Sheila Mac Nally

Tintern it is! There's a good bit of shelter too unless it's v wet

  • Tony Robinson

Sheila can't post paint-outs for the next couple of weeks and I'm not sure I can make them for the rest of this busy month. Anyone else who fancies posting a paint-out, please do so.

Thanks committee of Tagoat steam rally were wondering if some painters would come to paint at the event this year ,,they said it would be a good idea to bring any Painting you previously did at the event other years.

This year's Steam Rally in Tagoat takes place on Saturday 18th of August!!!

  • Kevin Freeney

Will there be different classes of steam? Presumably there will be different trials depending on the steam. Can one just show up and casually let off steam? What about condensation in the marquees? Will there be a problem with mould?

  • Dick Donaghue

No need to get steamed up about it.

  • Plein Eire Administrator

I've painted Tagoat Steam Rally before and it was quite good. There was a forge and farrier shoeing horses and a few vintage traction engines along with stalls, a couple of rides and a dog show. By all means, post an event, Louise. Let's share the load.

  • Kevin Freeney

And steam. Don't forget the steam, Tony.

  • Lynne Mac Chonnchradha

I'm steamed. I already have an engagement for 18 August. I won't be able to go. But thanks for allowing me to let off some steam. Phew!

  • Louise Treacy

Admin,, will you put it up please ( the steam rally) I'm no use at it can't remember how!!!! Thanks in advance!!!

  • Plein Eire Administrator

Some of the usual suspects for posting a SEPA paint-out will be attending a workshop this weekend but the weather forecast is good for Sunday if anyone else would like to pick up the baton?
