Happy New Year to Everyone! All the best in 2015! (with little delay ;))

  • Rita Lett

    Happy new year everybody.

I must say all you brave artist are great to paint out in this weather.

I'm a find day painter, when i get going.

Don't forget to bring a hot toddy with you and you will do great work.

  • Karen Scannell

Hi Karina, Rita..Same to you both !

  • Dick Donaghue

It was a clear sunny day and great company.

  • Karen Scannell

Hi Everyone..I'm sure Don Maier's death has been a saddness for everyone.. I wonder if its an idea to honor his memory by naming our first Official Paintout each year "The Don Maier New Year Paintout" ?

  • Michael McGuire

That's a really nice thought, Karen.

  • Louise Treacy

I think it would be a very suitable tribute to him.
I was also thinking maybe a kind of perpetual ongoing annual prize named after him in AITO. That would also be a lovely way to remember him and keep his legacy of plein air alive through the years Ahead. Thoughts????
  • Karen Scannell

Yes I thought the same..I'm sure the guys must be too ....

  • Terence Gillespie

    Good thought, I agree Karen.

  • Karen Scannell

Thats' great..Someone suggested Screen.. and it had crossed my mind also, as it was the last paint out he attended here....if  location suits..maybe this Sunday ? ..or another date ?

  • Plein Eire Administrator

Saturday looks a better day if anyone is planning taking out the brushes this weekend?

  • Louise Treacy

Yes Saturday is less wind and cloud by the looks of it.
My little white van Thelma, is sick at the moment, she is in the hospital for sick vans and cars today, hoping she will be discharged with a clean bill of van health tomorrow evening, fingers crossed.
  • Dick Donaghue

Saturday is good to go for me too

  • Michael McGuire

    I'm on for Saturday.

  • Louise Treacy

Yes Saturday definitely looks a better class of a day. Once Thelma is well Ill try to be there
  • Jan Ryan

Saturday is good for me too. In Screen?

  • Michael McGuire

Shall we agree on Screen then at say 11-00 am? I'm happy to post it as an event, but I'm not sure how to send an e-mail notification to all SEPA members. Karen/Tony help please!

  • Tony Robinson

If you'll be good enough to post the event, Michael, I'll certainly notify the group.

  • Michael McGuire

    I've just posted it, Tony.

  • Karen Scannell

Just saw your query, Michael re: messaging members...once an event is posted, copy the link address, then message all the group here, ( in the send message to group option).. you can paste the link address in that message..

Ideally, "friend" all members of the group, that way, when you post an event, it will automatically give you the option to  send an invite to all your "Friends"..

  • Michael McGuire

Thanks Karen. Tony did it for me this time, but I think I understand it now, so should be able to do it myself next time.

  • Louise Treacy

Lovely day in memory of Don Maier RIP.. The weather was very kind to us. Delighted to be a part of it.
  • Tony Robinson

    Kilmore Quay sounds good

  • Dick Donaghue

We'll be there. Where will we meet up?

  • Louise Treacy

Been out most days this week great light, but bitter cold . Put it up if ye are going mite be able to make it. Goin out to paint now in a while when I get all my layers on lol
  • Louise Treacy

Id say a few will be up for it, Sunday I presume??
  • Michael McGuire

OK, I'll post it now for Kilmore Quay.

  • John Moriarty

Hoping to be there; ah sure its only a 158km journey...;)

  • Louise Treacy

You must be up in the smoke so John!!
Might see you Sunday if you drive all that way!!
  • Louise Treacy

Looks like it will be a good bright day with light winds.
  • Kevin Freeney

Yay, down the road at Johnstown Castle on Sunday, Michael? Might actually make this one. Cafe is open all year round now.

  • Louise Treacy

Are ye goin to Johnstown Sunday ?? Might make that one too.
  • Michael McGuire

It would be great to see you back painting with SEPA, Kevin. Unless anyone has any other suggestions, Johnstown Castle is the front-runner then.

  • Michael McGuire

Don't know yet, Louise. Depends on where people want to go. I just posted the suggestion to see who else might want to paint and where. So, we'll see - if I don't hear any other suggestions during the day, I'll post it as an event this evening.

  • Louise Treacy

Thanks Michael ill keep my eyes peeled for any thing further.
  • Dick Donaghue

If we're free we will be there. Dick & Marja. Plenty to paint there.

  • Michael McGuire

Weather forecast looking a bit dodgy now for Sunday. But we'll go ahead, unless it turns really wet. Just an informal paint-out anyway so even if I'm on my own, no worries.

  • Louise Treacy

Prob be there Michael just some more practice .

'Developing the Arts in Wexford' - Have your say at one of a number of public consultation meetings happening around the county: Feb 12 - Gorey Library (7pm); Feb 14 - Wexford Library (11am); Feb 16 - St Michael's Theatre, New Ross (7pm); Feb 18 - Presentation Centre, Enniscorthy (7pm); Feb 19 - Bunclody Library (11am); Feb 23 - Wexford Library again (3pm).

  • Louise Treacy

Mmm sounds interesting, could be one to attend!! An opportunity, perhaps, to high light some of the activities of south east plein air and AITO. Thanks for the heads up, Admin.
  • Louise Treacy

Perhaps the one on 23rd would be better as not prepared for tomorrow !!
